celebrant / singer / author / vocal coach / radio presenter

Away from her work, Janet loves great food, champagne, being in the company of family and friends, theatre, music, writing, playing squash and researching family ancestry (with some amazing outcomes!)
She is also a published author and gives talks on the astonishing stories she has found in her family history. To find out much more, visit her personal site.
Originally from the Wirral peninsular, Janet now lives in Surrey with her husband, also a singer, and has one daughter.
Janet was the Head of Music in a secondary school in Buckinghamshire before training as an opera singer at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
In her career as a professional singer, she has travelled across the globe, and at home, worked for the English National Opera, Royal Opera House and many others. She sang for the Prime Minister’s guests in Japan, for the Queen of Thailand’s 60th birthday party in Bangkok and she was the first singer to sing live on Classic FM radio.
Alongside her celebrant role, Janet coaches classroom teachers on voice and presence, and runs a busy private singing teaching practice. Everything she does is voice and performance related, which is why celebrancy fits so neatly into her skill set. During lockdown, Janet trained as an Emotional Intelligence coach and NLP master practitioner and she prides herself on her inclusivity.
